Dr. Shobha Ahi

Deputy Director
Dr. Shobha Ahi is Deputy Director of the Drug Control Centre at King's College London, a WADA-accredited anti-doping laboratory. With over 20 years of experience in anti-doping science, analytical toxicology, and drug metabolism, she leads research focused on advancing analytical methodologies for doping control.
Dr. Ahi holds a PhD in Biochemistry and has extensive expertise in pharmacology, mass spectrometry, and laboratory quality systems. She is also a UKAS Technical Assessor for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and has mentored testing laboratories in quality management, method validation, and accreditation requirements.
She has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for several international scientific journals. Her current research interests include dried blood spot testing, metabolite characterization, biomarker discovery, and innovative approaches for detecting prohibited substances in sport.
