Paolo Carli

Paolo Carli is the Head of Advanced Solutions for the Life Science business of Merck. As Head of Advanced Solutions, he represents a customer-first, customer-focused, high-touch business that offers a tailored experience, ideal for customers with custom and/or complex requirements and those who would benefit from long-term partnerships and collaboration that extends beyond point of purchase.

Paolo is a global executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in the healthcare and life science sectors, particularly in oncology, neurology, fertility, diabetes, and cardiovascular fields. He has a proven track record of driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence, with a strong focus on transforming businesses in both established and emerging markets. Paolo most recently served as the Senior Vice President and Head of Commercial Americas Process Solutions for the Life Science business of Merck. In this role, he led teams dedicated to delivering leading products, services, and innovations that help pharmaceutical manufacturers bring new therapeutic solutions to patients around the world.

Earlier in his career, Paolo held roles in the corporate M&A function at the company, driving strategic acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to joining the company, he worked in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, where he supported expansion into emerging markets such as India, China, and Turkey.

Paolo holds an Executive MBA and a degree in Economics & Finance and is based at the company’s Burlington, MA, USA location.
