Application

MC-1 is an ampiphilic surfactant designed to enable a green method of peptide synthesis using water as the primary solvent in aqueous micellar catalysis. This product out-performs similar designer surfactants in enabling water based peptide synthesis, and does not require the usage of a co-solvent, affording a truly aqueous synthetic methodology. The structure of MC-1 is optimized that the inner micellar core simulates the properties of DMSO, a solvent ubiquitous with traditional peptide synthesis, while reducing the environmental drawbacks of using DMSO as the primary solvent.
