General description

Protein delivery system, Human Activin A, PODS contains the polyhedrin protein co-crystalized with Human Activin A. Human Activin A, a protein belonging to the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) family, interact with receptor type I and type II serine/threonine protein kinases, to activate SMAD signaling and regulate diverse cellular functions, such as cell differentiation, proliferation, tissue development, apoptosis, and metabolism.

Application

The product is suitable in research areas such as regenerative medicines, tissue specific differentiation, anti-Inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects, cancer therapy, and reproductive health.
  1. Regenerative medicines: The product can be used in tissue regeneration and repair in various therapeutic approaches. It can be used to stimulate the proliferation and differentiation of stem cells, aiding in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine strategies.
  2. Tissue-Specific Differentiation: The product can be used in studies to generate functional cells for transplantation, such as pancreatic beta cells for diabetes treatment or cardiomyocytes for heart regeneration.
  3. Cancer Therapy: The product is suitable for studies on cancer therapy involving targeted delivery of Activin A to tumor cells via a protein delivery system.

Features and Benefits

  • This product is produced with no animal derived raw products. All processing and handling employs animal free equipment and animal free protocols.
  • Endotoxin level of the product <0.06 EU/ml as measured by gel clot LAL assay.
  • PODS co-crystals may be reconstituted at 200 million co-crystals/ml in sterile PBS. 20% glucose has a buoyant density closer to PODS co-crystals and can be useful for aliquoting.
  • PODS provides durability, stability AND sustained release, addressing the limitations of conventional and enabling researchers to effortlessly control and manipulate cells in 2D and 3D culture as well as in-vivo. PODS co-crystals are highly stable when stored in aqueous solution (pH range 6 - 8).
