General description

Our sodium-modified silica particles are non-porous silica nanoparticles with a monodisperse particle size of 200 nm. The surface has been chemically modified to exhibit an increased concentration of sodium ions.

Application

Sodium functionalized silica particles can serve as an additive in electrolytes of sodium-ion batteries, particularly as fillers in hybrid liquid electrolytes or in polymer electrolytes. The functionalized particles can enhance the ionic conductivity of the electrolyte, improving the overall performance and stability of the battery. Sodium-modified silica particles can also find applications in drug delivery systems, diagnostics, or biosensing due to their enhanced surface functionality and potential for selective interactions with biological molecules.
