General description
The Whatman® GD/XP non-sterile Polypropylene Depth Filter (dpPP) membranesyringe filters are designed to prepare and enhance the inorganic ion analysis of hard-to-filter samples greater than 10 mL. Each unit contains a prefiltration stack of polypropylene prefilters and dpPPmembrane.
Application
- HPLC sample preparation
- Trace metal analysis
- Sample preparation prior to dissolved heavy metal
ISCC+ certified Biobased polypropylene housing (25mm devices):
- 90% Biobased plastic resin.
- Biobased plastic resin is ISCC Plus certified using Mass Balance approach.
- The polypropylene accounts for 95% of the weight/composition of the syringe filters.
Polypropylene Depth Filter (dpPP) considerations
This highly retentive polypropylene medium gives excellent flow rates and is compatible with both organic and aqueous samples. Together with polypropylene prefiltration stack it provides a pure, single material construction filter device, with a broad range of solvent/chemical resistance.
Features and Benefits
- Incorporates a two-layer polypropylene prefilter stack rather than a multi-layer glass fiber stack to minimize levels of ion extractables
- Extremely low protein binding syringe filter
- High loading volume for filtration of challenging samples
Other Notes
Eliminate sample contamination, Increase flow rates and reduce blockage as a result of the two layer prefilter stack, Process three to seven times more sample volume, Reduce costly exchanges with extended filter life, Requires less hand pressure, even for samples with a high level of particulates
