General description

Phosphatidylinositol (PI) is a phosphoglyceride, which has an inositol head group. Liver PI is a natural phosphatidylinositol. PI is the most important phospholipid component of the plasma membrane.

Application

Liver PI has been used as a standard for the identification of chromatogram of phospholipid (PL) classes in soy extract. It has also been used for the preparation of liposomes.
