General description

Osteonectin purified from human platelets. Acidic, Ca2+-binding glycoprotein found in a variety of embryonic and adult tissues containing actively proliferating and remodeling cells. Differs from the bone-derived osteonectin in its glycosylation pattern and its collagen binding specificity.

Physical form

In 150 mM NaCl, 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.4.

Preparation Note

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-20°C).
Prepared from serum that has been shown by certified tests to be negative for HBsAg and for antibodies to HIV and HCV.
