General description

West Nile Virus envelope protein.
~50 kDa observed; 31.88 kDa calculated. Uncharacterized bands may be observed in some lysate(s).

Application

Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A representative lot detected West Nile Virus in Immunocytochemistry applications (Thompson, B.S., et. al. (2009). PLoS Pathog. 5(5):e1000453).

Neutralizing Analysis: A representative lot completely inhibited West Nile virus infection at 10 ng/mL. (Oliphant, T., et. al. (2006). J Virol. 80(24):12149-59; Thompson, B.S., et. al. (2009). PLoS Pathog. 5(5):e1000453).

Biochem/physiol Actions

Clone E16 is a mouse monoclonal antibody that specifically detects envelope protein of West Nile Virus. It targets an epitope within the DIII lateral ridge region.

Physical form

Purified mouse monoclonal antibody IgG2b in PBS without azide.

Preparation Note

Stable for 1 year at -20°C from date of receipt. Handling Recommendations: Upon receipt and prior to removing the cap, centrifuge the vial and gently mix the solution. Aliquot into microcentrifuge tubes and store at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles, which may damage IgG and affect product performance.

Analysis Note

Evaluated by Western Blotting with Full-length ectodomain of West Nile Virus envelope protein.

Western Blotting Analysis: 1 µg/mL of this antibody detected Full-length ectodomain of West Nile Virus envelope protein.

Other Notes

Virus.
