General description
Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) are known to differentiate either into lymphoid cells or and myeloid cells that include granulocytes, monocytes, megakaryocytes, and dendritic cells. During hematopoiesis, lymphoid lineage cells originate from the lymph tissue and myeloid lineage cells originate from the bone marrow. Hematopoiesis is shown to change over time, with a bias of the dominating HSC towards myeloid development with advancing age. Defects in myelopoiesis is reported to result in several hematologic disorders. Clone OX-82 identifies myeloid cells and stromal elements in a variety of tissues in the adult. It reacts with a 35 kDa molecule expressed on myeloid cells and is useful in isolating pluripotent stem cells from rat bone marrow. (Ref.: Weiskopf, K., et al. (2016). Microbiol Spectr. 4(5); doi:10.1128; Crook, K., and Hunt, SV. (1996). Dev. Immunol. 4(4); 235-246).
Immunogen
Anemic rat bone marrow cells.
Application
Quality Control Testing
Evaluated by Flow Cytometry in Rat neutrophils.
Flow Cytometry Analysis: 1.0 µg of this antibody detected Myeloid lineage in one million Rat neutrophils.
Tested Applications
Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS): A representative lot detected Myeloid lineage in Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting applications (Crook, K., et al. (1996). Dev Immunol. 4(4):235-46).
Flow Cytometry Analysis: A representative lot detected Myeloid lineage in Flow Cytometry applications (Crook, K., et al. (1996). Dev Immunol. 4(4):235-46; Shaaban, S., et al. (2016). Int J Cancer Res. 12(2):69-81).
Note: Actual optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user as specimens, and experimental conditions may vary with the end user.
