Application

Sodium cholate hydrate was used in the sonication and purification of single-walled carbon nanotubes prior to electrophoresis.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Sodium cholate is an anionic detergent. It forms aggregates or micelles in aqueous solution. It slightly increases the solubility of insoluble molecules such as cholesterol, phospholipids and fatty acids.

Preparation Note

Sodium cholate hydrate yields clear, colorless solution in water (0.1 M).
