General description

Chlorinated Pesticides in Soil - PT proficiency testing material is produced for use in soil testing for pesticides in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. This product is produced according to TNI requirements. However, please note, this sample may include non-TNI analytes as well. The PT portfolio allows our test components to offer significant performance data to monitor and prove competency to customers, accreditation bodies or both.

Supelco® is a global proficiency testing (PT) provider that manufactures best-in-class environmental and pharmaceutical PT products. We are the world leader in the manufacturing of real-world soil and sediment PT products.

Type of PT Scheme: Solids/Soils/Hazardous Waste

Matrix: Soil

Analyte/s: Values of analytes vary lot to lot.
Randomly contains a minimum 80% of the analytes listed.

All information regarding the use of Chlorinated Pesticides in Soil - PT can be found in the reporting packet which will be available to download at PT Portal.

Chlorinated Pesticides in Soil - PT is a soil/hazardous waste proficiency testing material, suitable for testing the concentration of chlorinated pesticide analytes in soil samples.

Our soil PT samples behave as real samples; and, unless there is no alternative, are not simply spikes added to a blank soil. They are designed to meet the requirements of national, regional and state-specific accreditation bodies (TNI, USEPA, UKAS) for quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Preparation Note

  • The PT sample size provided is 50 g of soil.
  • The soil has been sterilized to minimize degradation of the sample.
  • The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh.
  • Store sample at room temperature. Once opened sample should be used within 6 months or by the expiration date on label, whichever is sooner.
  • The evaluation of results will be based on study statistics as required by TNI.
  • This PT sample contains extractable pesticide organics within a concentration range of 50 - 500 μg/Kg.
  • The sample has been intentionally prepared with an apparent headspace.

Sample Preparation

  • Mix prior to use.
  • Recommended minimum sampling size is 1 g.
  • Analyze the sample using the preparatory and determinative method(s) for which you are seeking accreditation.
Note: Sample extracts and calibration solutions should be in the same solvent.
  • Determination of the percent moisture content of the sample is required.
  • The method must be reported.
  • Report on a dry weight basis.
