Sulfide in Soil - PT proficiency testing material is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. The PT portfolio allows our test components to offer significant performance data to monitor and prove competency to customers, accreditation bodies or both.
Supelco® is a global proficiency testing (PT) provider that manufactures best-in-class environmental and pharmaceutical PT products. We are the world leader in the manufacturing of real-world soil, sediment and sewage sludge PT products. Type of PT Scheme: Solids/Soils/Hazardous Waste
Matrix: Soil Analyte/s: Values of analytes vary lot to lot.
All information regarding the use of Sulfide in Soil - PT can be found in the reporting packet which will be available to download at PT Portal.
Sulfide in Soil - PT is a soil/hazardous waste proficiency testing material, suitable for testing sulfide analyte in soil samples. Our soil PT samples behave as real samples; and, unless there is no alternative, are not simply spikes added to a blank soil. They are designed to meet the requirements of national, regional and state-specific accreditation bodies (TNI, USEPA, UKAS) for quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Features and Benefits
We have a vast portfolio of environmental PT schemes with "fit-for-purpose" samples to help you meet the needs of the laboratory.
Our proficiency testing (PT) program is a benchmark to:
provide staff with an insight into their laboratory′s performance, to verify the accuracy and reliability of their testing process
provide a comparison of performance with that of other laboratories, nationally and internationally
test and educate staff, provide a better understanding of the impact of incorrect results and identify areas where there may be problems
provide an independent evaluation of laboratory performance
demonstrate to clients, colleagues and accreditation bodies that there is a commitment to quality
The PT sample contains acid-soluble sulfide.
A fortifying spike and a blank soil are provided.
The PT sample has been sterilized.
The evaluation of results will be based on study statistics for equivalent methods. This sample is not suitable for reactive cyanide/sulfide methods.
The soil is to be extracted and analyzed using an appropriate extraction and analytical method for sulfide, assuming a 25 g sample will contain sufficient sulfide for determination.
Sulfide is temperature and light-sensitive. Minimize contact to these conditions.
The sample has been buffered to stabilize sulfide. Some methods may require a pH adjustment to 7 prior to analysis.
Weigh 25 g of the blank soil and place in an extraction vessel. Open the ampule and add 10 mL of solution directly to the blank soil. The sample is now ready for immediate analysis.
In the PT Portal, please list the determinative technique used for the analysis of this sample.
Report your results based on 25 g of soil, as mg/Kg of soil. Do not correct the analytical results for matrix spike recovery bias.
Storage and Stability
Please refer to sample label for expiration date, specific storage temperature, and specific storage conditions.
