Biochem/physiol Actions

Derived from a skin biopsy of an adult male muntjac. The cells have a diploid chromosome number of 7 in the male and 6 in the female, amongst the lowest determined for a mammalian species. Recent tests indicate the cell line is positive for BVDV, both for antigen and infectious virus. Susceptible to vesicular stomatitis (Indiana strain), herpes simplex and vaccinia viruses.
