IIC9 (CH0) is suitable for selective growth of some rodent epithelial cells in a medium containing citrulline.

Biochem/physiol Actions

Chinese hamster embryo fibroblast
The Chinese hamster embryo fibroblast (CHEF) line is a nontumorigenic and stable diploid cell line, with a high serum requirement for growth. It is isolated from embryo preparation and is a spontaneous tumorigenic anchorage-independent line.

Preparation Note

Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:10 ie. seeding at 2-4 x10,000 cells/cm2 using 0.25% trypsin /EDTA; 37°C; 5% CO2.
