One of a series of cell lines established from mononuclear cells of a boar (Sus scrofa domestica L) which was injected with Shimozuma cells producing porcine retrovirus (Tsukuba-1). Contain retrovirus particles; positive in RT assay.

Porcine peripheral blood B cell

Maintain cultures between 100,000 to 1,000,000 cells/ml; 5% CO₂; 37 °C. Cells grow slowly and in small clumps. Slightly acidic conditions preferred for growth.

RPMI 1640 + 2 mM Glutamine + 1 mM Sodium Pyruvate (NaP) + 0.05 mM 2-Mercaptoethanol (2ME) + 10% Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
