General description
闭合蛋白（OCLN）是一种完整的膜蛋白，由定位于人类染色体5q13.2的基因编码。OCLN的分子量约为65kDa。它具有四个跨膜结构域，包括一个长的COOH末端胞质结构域、一个短的NH2末端胞质结构域、两个胞外环和一个胞内转向（intracellular turn）。它专门位于紧密连接（TJ）处。
Immunogen
相应的 KLH 偶联的人闭合蛋白 C 末端区域序列对应的合成肽。相应序列在大鼠（89% 序列同源性）和小鼠（84% 序列同源性）闭合蛋白中高度保守。
Application
兔抗闭合蛋白（C 端）抗体可用于免疫组化。
Biochem/physiol Actions
闭合蛋白（OCLN）与紧密连接（TJ）相关外周膜蛋白在TJ的形成和调节中起着至关重要的作用。编码的蛋白质促进p85a（磷脂酰肌醇3-激酶的调节亚基）向TJ的转运，以调节氧化应激后的肌动蛋白组织。OCLN也与细胞迁移有关。该基因的突变导致带状钙化的发展，并简化了回旋和多小脑回畸形（BLC-PMG）。
