Biochem/physiol Actions
KCNJ5 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily J member 5) is associated with aldosteronism, a major cause of secondary hypertension. Mutated KCNJ5 gene affects the polarization of plasma membrane and permit sodium and calcium inflow into the cells.

General description
Anti-KCNJ5 Antibody detects endogenous levels of total KCNJ5 protein.
KCNJ5 (potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily J member 5) is an inwardly rectifying potassium channel, which is also termed as GIRK4 (G protein-coupled inward rectifier K+ channel 4). It is expressed in the cerebral cortex. This gene is mapped to human chromosome 11q24.
