Preparation Note

  • This PT sample is packaged as 5 vials x 1 gram.

Sample Preparation

  1. Analysis should be completed within 1 hour of hydration
  2. This sample set contains 5 vials containing a matrix with dehydrated organisms.
  3. Each sample vial is uniquely marked. Remember to label your containers with the corresponding sample number and the study number prior to hydrolyzing the samples
  4. Allow the capped sample vial to equilibrate to room temperature. This may take 15 min.
  5. Aseptically transfer 10 ml buffer solution/ hydration fluid to the vial. Vortex mix.
  6. If PCR is used, hydrate the matrix-sample mixture with your recommended buffer.
  7. The tablet will dissolve completely in about 15 minutes
  8. Mix again and use the sample for analysis according to your usual laboratory praxis.

  1. Report which samples are Salmonella positive with 1 and which are Salmonella negative with 0.
