用于测量活细胞的代谢活性和增殖。染料的生物还原减少了其氧化形式(蓝色)的含量,同时增加了荧光中间体(红色)水平。

刃天青是一种蓝色的非荧光染料,最初用于检测牛奶/生物液体的细菌和酵母污染情况。此外,其在精子活力和精液质量检测中也很有用。刃天青适用于细胞毒性测定。
