Receiving and Handling SPLASH™ Mixtures
Upon receiving your order of any SPLASH™ mixtures, please follow these steps to ensure optimal use of the product:
- Confirm that you have the correct product and note the lot number.
- Navigate to the Sigma Aldrich Avanti Research™ site. Enter the product number in the “Product Number” field and the lot number in the “Lot/Batch Number” field to access your Certificate of Analysis.
- If you are not ready to use the mixture, store it in a freezer at -20°C.
- When ready to use the mixture, remove it from the freezer and let it reach room temperature.
- Carefully cut the label off the ampule with scissors.
- Sonicate the sealed ampule until the solution is clear and free of floating particles to ensure the lipids are fully dissolved.
- Allow the sealed ampule to sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes after sonication.
- Open the ampule and proceed with your experiment (refer to this extraction protocol if needed.)
- All SPLASH™ mixtures are intended for single use; storage after opening is not recommended, as concentrations will change over time.
