Application
TopFluor™ PE may be used as a fluorescently labeled lipid to replace the head labeled lipid (TFPE-head) to study the fusion efficiency of liposomes. It has also been used in the preparation of liposome.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Phosphoethanolamine participates in phospholipid metabolism. It has the ability to repress tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo.
General description
TopFluor has a moiety, called dipyrromethene boron difluoride. This fluorescent molecule is covalently attached to various lipid molecules. Phosphoethanolamine is a precursor to phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine.

Activation of G-protein-gated inwardly rectifying potassium channels (Kir3.x) requires the direct binding of phosphorylated phosphatidylinositides (PIPs). Previous studies have established that PIP isoforms activate Kir channels to varying degrees and the binding affinity between PIPs and Kir3.2 appears to be
