Gene Information
human ... TRAF3IP2(10758)
General description
CIKS (connection to IKK (IκB kinase) and SAPK (stress-activated protein kinase) /JNK (jun kinase)) is a cytoplasmic protein, that exists in the nucleus. It is also termed as Act1(NF-κB activator 1) and TRAF3IP2 (TRAF3 interacting protein 2). It is located on chromosome 6q21.
Immunogen
a synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 2-15 of human CIKS.
Biochem/physiol Actions
CIKS (connection to IKK (IκB kinase) and SAPK (stress-activated protein kinase) /JNK (jun kinase)) is susceptible to various diseases like psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. It is responsible for the cardiomyocyte growth, fibroblast migration and proliferation, promoted by aldosterone. It participates in the signaling function of IL-17 (interleukin) cytokine family. It can act as a transcriptional enhancer due to its presence in the nuclear compartment of airway epithelial cells.
Physical form
Solution in phosphate buffered saline containing 0.02% sodium azide
Other Notes
The action of this antibody can be blocked using blocking peptide SBP2501.
