Variamine Blue RT Salt has been used as a dye in ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometric method based-uricase enzyme for the detection of uric acid in normal urine. It is also used in combination with naphthol AS-MX phosphate-variam to determine the cytochemical visualization of alkaline phosphatase activity.
