General description

Direct blue 71 is an azo dye with three azo bonds. It is useful to stain membrane-immobilized antibodies and proteins for the investigation of antigen-antibody interactions.

Application

Direct blue 71 has been used to stain sliced tissue sections mounted on the PVDF for in situ proteome analysis, and to stain the electroblotted membranes and sections of the brain to visualize the structure. Direct blue staining is also suitable for the assessment of protein binding and qualitative validation of protein concentration.
