General description

We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products that adhere to one of the four categories of Greener Alternatives. This is an enabling product that enhances cyclic stability in lithium-ion batteries, significantly improving energy storage performance and contributing to more efficient energy solutions. Click here for more information.
Iron(III) fluoride, also known as ferric fluoride or iron trifluoride. It is a thermally stable inorganic compound widely used as a cathode material for lithium-ion batteries due to its high capacity, relatively high working potential, and reversibility compared to other transition metal fluorides. Additionally, it is also used as a catalyst in certain organic reactions, such as the chemoselective addition of cyanide to aldehydes.

Application

Iron(III) fluoride can be used:
  • To produce high-capacity lithium storing cathodes via liquid phase exfoliation method.
  • As a cathode material for sodium-ion batteries.
  • As a catalyst for the conversion of carbonyl compounds into oxathioacetals and dithioacetals.
