General description

Magnesium Ethoxide, is a high-purity, organometallic precursor, that exhibits high chemical reactivity due to the presence of alkoxide ligands. The compound is soluble in common organic solvents such as ethanol and ether, offering excellent compatibility for solution-based processing.

Application

Magnesium ethoxide can be used :
  • As a sol–gel precursor for synthesizing high quality MgO thin films, offering excellent control over film uniformity and crystallinity. Its application in biomedical coatings and electronic substrates enhances corrosion resistance, antibacterial properties, and structural integrity of materials
  • As an additive in THF-based electrolytes to enhance magnesium ion transport and stabilize internal surfaces in rechargeable magnesium batteries.
  • As a precursor in the sol–gel synthesis of Pb(Mg/Nb/)O (PMN) ferroelectric ceramics for high-performance dielectric applications.
