7-(Carboxymethoxy)-4-methylcoumarin (CMC) was used in the preparation of poly(4-vinyl pyridine)-CMC, photosensitive polymer and 3-chloro-7-[(chlorocarbonyl)methoxy]-4-methylcoumarin.
