General description

2-Mercaptophenol (H2mp) is a 1,2-bidentate sulfur containing ligand. It exhibits versatile coordination modes in its ligation to the transition metal atoms.

Application

2-Mercaptophenol may be employed as a complexing agent for the microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) of mercury species from sediments and zoobenthos samples. It may be used for the synthesis of Vanadium (IV) complexes having mixed O, S donor ligands.
