The actual utility of capillary electrophoresis-mass spectrometry (CE-MS) for biomarker discovery using metabolomics still needs to be assessed. Therefore, a simulated comparative metabolic profiling study for biomarker discovery by CE-MS was performed, using pooled human plasma samples with spiked biomarkers.
