General description

(±)-Menthol (racemic menthol) can be synthesized via hydrogenation of citral.

Application

(±)-Menthol (racemic menthol) can be transformed to (-)-menthyl acetate by using Candida rugosa lipase(CRL) and lipase PS(from Pseudomonas cepacia) as catalysts.
