General description

Rethink your bioinks with TissueFab®

About the material:

This TissueFab porous bioink kit contains:

  • TissueFab porous bioink, 100-175µm, Vis/405 nm
  • TissueFab dissolution solution
Printing and crosslinking parameters:

  • Suitable for extrusion bioprinting
  • Photocrosslinking at 405nm wavelength (Visible light)
This TissueFab porous bioink kit is designed for bioprinting porous, cell-laden hydrogels in customizable shapes without the need for supporting materials. This advanced bioink incorporates alginate-based microspheres, which range in size from 100 to 175µm, facilitating the creating of intricate tissue structures. Upon exposure to 405 nm light, the bioink undergoes photocrosslinking, ensuring stability and integrity during the printing process. After printing, the cell-friendly TissueFab(R) dissolution solution can be applied to remove the microspheres, resulting in a porous architecture that significantly enhances cell spreading and migration, differentiation and maturation, and tissue production while improving nutrient diffusion through the hydrogel scaffold. More information and a step by step protocol can be found under the "More Documents" section of this page.

Application

The TissueFab® porous bioink kit is suited for a variety of applications in the fields of drug discovery, in vitro disease modeling, regenerative medicine, and cell culture. By enabling the creation of complex tissue structures, this bioink supports advanced research and development in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, providing researchers with the tools necessary to build and explore new therapeutic strategies. Porous bioinks are particularly well-suited for tissue that require a high degree of cell infiltration and vascularization including:
  • cartilage tissue engineering
  • bone tissue engineering
  • skin modeling, regeneration and wound repair
  • muscle tissue engineering
  • vascularized tissues and blood vessels

Features and Benefits

Each TissueFab® bioink is developed and tested to meet strict criteria to best suit researchers′ needs, which includes:

  • Printability and rheological properties
  • Crosslinking
  • Cell viability
  • Biocompatibility
  • Batch control and reproducibility
The TissueFab porous bioinks have specifically been tested with a variety of widely used cell types including mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), fibroblasts, and HUVECs. Additional features and benefits include:

  • Defined pore size in bioprinted construct
  • Increased surface area for cells to grow in bioprinted construct
