General description
DTPA-BSA (Gd) (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid)-bis(stearylamide) (gadolinium salt)) is an amphiphilic molecule with paramagnetic property.
Application
DTPA-BSA (Gd) (diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid)-bis(stearylamide) (gadolinium salt)) has been used:
- in the preparation of nontargeting (NT) gadolinium peptide amphiphile micelles (PAMs) for the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of atherosclerotic lesions
- as a MRI agent in the preparation of lipid-like nanoparticles (LLNs) for small interfering RNA (siRNA) encapsulation
- as a MRI agent in the preparation of paramagnetic saposin C and dioleylphosphatidylserine (SapC-DOPS) vesicles for imaging glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tumors
Biochem/physiol Actions
Gd-DTPA-BSA is useful as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) agent and the gadolinium ion enables the generation of bright images by lowering the longitudinal relaxation time.

To investigate paramagnetic saposin C and dioleylphosphatidylserine (SapC-DOPS) vesicles as a targeted contrast agent for imaging phosphatidylserine (PS) expressed by glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) tumors. Gd-DTPA-BSA/SapC-DOPS vesicles were formulated, and the vesicle diameter and relaxivity were measured. Targeting of Gd-DTPA-BSA/SapC-DOPS vesicles

Multi-functional nanomaterials possess unique properties, facilitating both therapeutic and diagnostic applications among others. Herein, we developed dual-functional lipid-like nanoparticles for simultaneous delivery of mRNA and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents in order to express functional proteins and provide real-time
