Application
IP3(1,4,5) has been used as a supplement to treat purified inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate 3-kinase A (IP3K-A) recombinant protein in kinase-Glo luminescent kinase assay.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Inositol 1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3) acts as a second messenger. IP3 is capable of liberating calcium from the endoplasmic reticulum. IP3 helps to modulate the interaction between IP3R-binding protein released with inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IRBIT) and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate receptor (IP3R).

The inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP(3)) receptors (IP(3)Rs) are IP(3)-gated Ca(2+) channels on intracellular Ca(2+) stores. Herein, we report a novel protein, termed IRBIT (IP(3)R binding protein released with inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate), which interacts with type 1 IP(3)R (IP(3)R1) and was released upon

Inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate 3-kinase A (IP3K-A, alternative name: ITPKA) is a neuron-specific enzyme that converts 1,4,5-trisphosphate (IP3) into inositol 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate (IP4) through its kinase domain. In addition, transient overexpression of IP3K-A induces morphological changes in dendritic spines of excitatory synapses in

This resource provides and describes two animated lessons that illustrate inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate signal transduction pathways. They are designed for any collegiate-level course that presents the basic steps of the prototypical pathway. Courses that might employ these animations include Introductory Biology
