Codeine-6-β-D-glucuronide is a major urinary metabolite of codeine, an opiate commonly used as an antitussive and analgesic for management of mild pain. The antinociceptive and immunosuppressive effects of codeine and codeine 6-glucuronide were determined in rats after intracerebroventricular administration.
