General description

Norsertraline is a major urinary metabolite and N-desmethyl analog of the SSRI antidepressant sertraline. Marketed under trade names such as Zoloft® and Lustral, sertraline is used to treat major depressive disorder in adults as well as obsessive-compulsive, panic, and social anxiety disorders in both adults and children. Suitable uses for this certified solution standard include as an internal standard for quantitation of norsertraline levels in urine or isotope dilution methods by LC/MS or GC/MS for clinical toxicology, urine drug testing, or forensic analysis.
