General description

Promethazine is a phenothiazine analog prescribed for treatment of nausea, motion sickness, vomiting, and allergies. Sold under trade names such as Phenergan® and Phenadoz®, promethazine has antihistamine, sedative, and mild antipsychotic effects. This Certified Spiking Solution® is suitable for GC/MS or LC/MS methods in promethazine testing applications including clinical toxicology, forensic analysis, and urine drug testing. Among drug abusers, promethazine has reportedly been misused in conjunction with opioids, benzodiazepines, and sedatives.
