General description

Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine with cytotoxic activity that is primarily produced by macrophages. TNF-α is involved in systemic inflammation and is a member of the group of cytokines that stimulate the acute phase reaction. When administered to animals or humans it causes inflammation, fever, cardiovascular effects, hemorrhage, coagulation and acute phase responses similar to those seen during acute infections and shock states. By promoting the inflammatory response, TNF-α is associated with many autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn′s disease, psoriasis and refractory asthma. TNF-α also plays a role in cancer and regulates apoptotic cell death, cellular proliferation, differentiation, tumorigenesis and viral replication.

Application

Inflammatory Disease / Immune Response / Autoimmune Disease

Features and Benefits

  • Ultra-Sensitive Detection of Mouse TNF-α: Enables detection of low-abundance TNF-α, critical for studying early inflammatory responses, cytokine signaling, and disease progression in preclinical models.
  • Specificity for Mouse TNF-α: Ensures accurate and selective measurement without cross-reactivity, supporting mechanistic studies in inflammation and immune regulation.
  • Application in Autoimmune and Inflammatory Disease Research: Supports biomarker discovery and therapeutic evaluation in models of chronic inflammation and immune dysregulation.

Packaging

96 well assay

Analysis Note

  • Standard Curve Range: 240-250,000 fg/mL
  • Intra-assay CV: <15%
  • Inter-assay CV: <20%
  • Recovery: 80-120%
