General description

Src is a proto-oncogenic tyrosine kinase belonging to the Src family of non-receptor tyrosine kinases. This proto-oncogene plays a pivotal role cellular processes such as proliferation, migration, transformation and regulation of embyronic development and cell growth. Src tyrosine kinases transmit integrin-dependent signals for cell movement and proliferation. The study of Src proteins have contributed to the understanding of cancer caused by abnormal cellular signaling.

Endogenous Src has a molecular weight of ~60 kDa; however, the myc tag adds ~9 kDa to the weight of the protein.

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human Src acetylated at Lys430.
