General description
Method: reflectometric with test strips and reagent 0.5 - 10.0 mg/l Cl₂ Reflectoquant®
The Reflectoquant Chlorine test includes test strips and all necessary additional reagents and is a rapid exploratory test for free chlorine and intended primarily for checking the use of chlorinated disinfectants. Chlorine containing disinfectants are most widely used. They are applied particularly to disinfect drinking water and swimming pool water. On the test strip, chlorine oxidizes an organic compound to a violet dye that is determined reflectometrically on the RQflex® 20. For pre-testing a sample in an economic and quick way to estimate the chlorine concentration and a possible dilution factor prior to using this quantitative method we recommend our semi-quantitative MQuant test strips for chlorine. Further quantitative determination methods can be found with our Spectroquant tests.
