General description

Method: reflectometric 0.1 - 5.0 mg/l PO Reflectoquant® plus or RQFlex® 10 plus
The Reflectoquant® Phosphate test measures orthophosphate in wastewater, drinking water, groundwater and surface water, aquarium water, seawater and food after appropriate sample pretreatment. In sulfuric solution orthophosphate ions (PO43-) react with molybdate ions to form molybdophosphoric acid. This is reduced to phosphomolybdenum blue (PMB) that is determined reflectometrically on the RQflex. For pre-testing a sample in an economic and quick way to estimate the phosphate concentration and a possible dilution factor prior to using this quantitative method we recommend our semi-quantitative MQuant test strips for phosphate. Further quantitative determination methods can be found with our Spectroquant tests.
