General description

Coagulation Factor XII, Human Plasma, CAS 9001-30-3, is a native coagulation factor XI that once activated (principally by kallikrein), is converted to Factor α-XIIa.
Native coagulation factor XII from human plasma. A single-chain polypeptide, which once activated (principally from the action of kallikrein) is converted to Factor α-XIIa. Factor α-XIIa then converts Factor XI to Factor XIa.

Physical form

In 150 mM NaCl, 4 mM sodium acetate buffer, pH 5.3.

Preparation Note

Following initial thaw, aliquot and freeze (-70°C).
Prepared from plasma that has been shown by certified tests to be negative for HBsAg and for antibodies to HIV and HCV.

Other Notes

Specific activity is measured by clotting assay and compared to a standard curve produced using normal pooled human plasma.
