General description

A ketoaldehyde resulting from the oxidation of glucose by glucose oxidase. Acts as a mixed type inhibitor of glucoamylase, possibly by forming a nonproductive ternary complex with the enzyme and the substrate.

Preparation Note

Following reconstitution, aliquot and freeze (-20°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 6 months at -20°C.
