General description
Modified Scholten Broth (MSB) is a selective and differential microbial culture media. This ready-to-use media comes in a semi-solid form as described in ISO 10705-2: 2000.
Modified Scholten Broth (MSB) contains a higher amount of salt in the composition which inhibits the growth of non-halophilic (non salt-loving) microbes. Mannitol acts as the energy source, while phenol red serves as a pH indicator, changing color to confirm the presence of target microorganisms.
