General description

Ammonium acetate is commonly used as a buffer in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). It is used as a mobile phase to develop a novel speciation methodology applicable to urine samples using IEC-ICP-MS.

Application

Ammonium acetate can be used as a:
  • Mobile phase in the derivatization reaction to enhance the detection and separation of glyphosate and aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA) using reversed-phase liquid chromatography (RPLC).
  • Buffer component in the mobile phase of the Hydrophilic Interaction Liquid Chromatography (HILIC) method for the separation and determination of polar lipid classes.
