General description
Carboxylate form of Simvastatin (Cat. No. 567020) that is active in whole cells and in cell-free assays. A lipophilic 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor that blocks Ras function through inhibition of farnesylation. Also inhibits glucose-induced Ca2+-signaling and insulin secretion by blocking L-type Ca2+ channels in rat islet β-cells. Inhibits cell proliferation of human smooth muscle cells. The solid form of this compound (Cat. No. 567021) is also available.

Malignant tumors commonly display necrosis, which invariably triggers an inflammatory response that supports tumor growth. However, the effect on tumor cells of necrotic debris, or damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) released by dying cells is unknown. Here, we addressed the effect

Brain and spinal cord oligodendroglia have distinct functional characteristics, and cell-autonomous loss of individual genes can result in different regional phenotypes. However, a molecular basis for these distinctions is unknown. Using single-cell analysis of oligodendroglia during developmental myelination, we demonstrate
