General description
The pIE1-neo plasmid is designed for the establishment of stably-transformed insect cells. When co-transfected with a pIE1 vector containing a foreign gene under the control of the baculovirus ie1 promoter, stable cell lines that constitutively express low levels of the target gene can be selected in the presence of the antibiotic G418 (1). The neo gene is expressed from an "unenhanced" ie1 promoter in pIE1-neo.
