Gene Information
human ... GCM1(8521)
General description
50 kDa
GCM1 is a DNA binding protein with a GCM motif (glial cell missing motif) that is a key transcription factor for determining the fate of stem cells within the nervous system, in addition to being critical for placental development. This protein binds to the GCM motif (A/G)CCCGCAT, a novel sequence among known targets of DNA binding proteins. The N-terminal DNA-binding domain confers the unique DNA binding activity of this protein. Current studies indicate that the introduction of the mouse GCM1 gene in cultured cells from embryonic brains resulted in the induction of an astrocyte lineage.

This Anti-mGCM1 Antibody is validated for use in WB for the detection of mGCM1.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Comparison of sequence homology suggests that this antibody will also react in mouse and rat; however, reactivity to other species has not been tested.
This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptided selected from the C-terminal region mouse GCM1.
Physical form
Peptide affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal antibody in buffer containing PBS with 0.09% sodium azide.
