Gene Information

human ... MORF4(10934)

General description

Mortality factor 4 (MORF4) is a component of the NuA4 histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex which is involved in transcriptional activation of select genes typically by acetylation of nucleosomal histones H4 and H2A. NuA4 complex may be required for the activation of transcriptional programs associated with oncogene and proto-oncogene mediated growth induction, tumor suppressor mediated growth arrest and replicative senescence, DNA repair and apoptosis. MORF4 is localized to the nucleus and has transcription factor-like motifs such as helix-loop-helix and a leucine zipper motif. Additionally, MORF4 has been shown to bind to the transcription corepressors mSin3A and TLE, suggesting that together, these complexes may play a role in transcriptional repression of genes that lead to cellular senescence.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to human MORF4.

Application

Anti-MORF4 Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets Mortality factor 4 & has been tested in western blotting, IHC & Immunofluorescence.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 5 µg/mL from a representative lot detected MORF4 in human brain tissue.

Immunofluorescence Analysis: 20 μg/mL from a representative lot detected MORF4 in HepG2 cells.
