General description
VIRAPREP Kit is a water quality testing kit specifically designed for the concentration, detection, and quantification of coliphages in water samples, including both drinking water and wastewater. Coliphages, which are viruses that infect coliform bacteria, serve as microbial indicators of water quality and are critical for assessing the safety of water sources. This kit employs the membrane filtration method, a highly efficient technique for isolating somatic coliphages and other microbial indicators from water samples, with sample volumes ranging between 10-100 mL and can be extended to 1000 mL. The kit is designed for the screening of somatic coliphages (PhiX174 model) and F-specific RNA bacteriophages (MS2 model), with a detection limit of 1 PFU/100 mL, in accordance with EU requirements. The kit includes all essential components, which work together to ensure the effective concentration and recovery of coliphages, thereby enabling accurate microbiological testing and virus quantification.
